DORSET March 17th-18th-19th

Leaving home early on Friday morning we headed towards Weymouth, having booked to stay at Martleaves Farm, Wyke Regis...which is connected to the Swallows Rest B&B.

Dorchester was our first stop. We wandered around the town for awhile and I found a brightly coloured 'sunset' jacket in a charity shop, so brought that home with me : )

Afterwards we moved on to Weymouth (where my hair got sandblasted) and from there to the camp site...where we were met by a curious sheep...I think this one was attracted to me because my matted windblown hair resembled hers!
and there were some Alpaca too!
We were actually parked in a field full of sheep, with the Alpaca 'next door'.
The pic below is our view from the campervan windows...
so at night, of course, we had no difficulty sleeping : )
The following day we toured the wider area...visiting Corfe Castle...

Bridport had a market that was worthy of a browse, with music playing courtesy of  Tinkler's Cuss. Whilst there we bought a couple of oggies for lunch.
Swanage sea front was a attractive, and had a clean sandy beach and sparkling clear water...but as campervans weren't allowed to park anywhere nearby we gave it a miss.

Charmouth was far more camper-friendly! The gritty sand there held it's own charms and the dog enjoyed herself too!
We enjoyed really lovely scenery along the way...and having Julian with us meant we could stop for a cuppa in the quietest spots to take advantage of the best.
